Hollister, Inc. Partners with Pink Slip Offering Hope to Massachusetts’ Unemployed Professionals
April 11, 2009- Hollister, Inc., a Boston staffing firm, will be hosting a local networking group next Thursday, April 16. The 175-member organization of unemployed professionals typically holds its meetings in coffee shops and is appropriately called Pink Slips and Coffee. Members gather bi-weekly to lend support, exchange ideas and gather information about the current job market.
Kip Hollister, founder and CEO of Hollister will be on hand to lend her expertise on market trends, including social networking sites and strategies job seekers can utilize to position themselves in this turbulent job market.
”One of the most important details to keep in mind when job hunting is the need to market yourself,” explains Nancy Walter, staffing consultant with Hollister. “You must position yourself in such a way that employers see that your skills are in high demand and can add value to an organization.” (For more tips on marketing yourself click here.)
The group will then break up into the five divisions Hollister employs for: Accounting & Finance, Creative & Marketing, Information Technology, Administrative and Human Resources. Recruiters from each of these divisions will be available for advice and resume critique.
